Giving at St. Stephen's

Stewardship is about thanksgiving – how we manage our time, abilities, and resources to do God’s work at St. Stephen’s and in our community.  Stewardship is, simply put, our responsibility to care for God’s gifts, and to use those gifts to glorify God, to serve the common good, and to further God’s kingdom.

Coronavirus Update - A Letter from your Vestry

Bishop Sutton’s decision to close all churches in the Diocese for two weeks was a powerful and appropriate response to the current global COVID-19 virus situation. As Governor Hogan said, “We are all in this together, and we cannot stop the spread of this virus without each and every one of you doing your part.”

We will miss the opportunity to worship together but we certainly can agree it is important to protect our community and parish family, especially those most at risk.

Despite these steps, St Stephen’s is still actively working to fulfill its mission of “Sharing God's Love and Bringing Hope Through Ministry and Service”.  The Church Office (with Irene) is open and Father Hailey is finding new ways to connect to us spiritually through streaming options and outreach.  And as you may expect, all the regular expenses to maintain our parish campus continue even if we don’t worship together on Sundays.

The church must continue to meet its financial obligations, which are typically funded by the Sunday pledge and plate offerings.  The Vestry asks that you consider continuing your giving to St. Stephen’s by mailing your offering directly to the office or using our new Paypal account by using the Donate button above, or clicking this link.  If you have a pledge number, please include it under the Optional Note section to assist in tracking your pledge properly.

Please Note:  Paypal charges non-profits a 2.2% processing fee which is deducted from your donation before it is received by St. Stephen’s.  You may wish to add money to your offering to cover this fee.  For example, a $100 donation on Paypal results in a $97.50 payment to St. Stephen's. We know this isn't ideal, but wanted to provide an option for online giving during this unusual time.

You may also give to St. Stephen's through the Diocese of Maryland website by clicking this link.

This will help us meet our financial commitments while we navigate this new, unprecedented and ever-changing global situation.

Our prayers for good health and calm are sent to you and your family.  We will get through this together as a church and community by supporting and caring for each other.
